Optical Windows & Mirrors
Transparent barriers and reflective paths — the two oldest jobs in optics, done to drawing.
Windows
Windows act as transparent barriers between environments while leaving the beam intact. We control transmittance, uniformity, sub-surface defects, surface figure and parallelism through grind and polish so the part behaves on your bench the way it behaved on ours. Square, rectangular and round formats; AR both sides on request; IR materials on program.
Mirrors
Flat, concave and convex substrates with protected silver, aluminum and gold coatings; laser-line dielectric enhancements for high-power paths. Surface figure on interferometer maps, coating adhesion to standard tests, beam apertures and masking available.
Prisms & Beamsplitters
Right-angle, Porro, beam-splitting and total-internal-reflection prisms in BK7, fused silica and sapphire; prism, grating and interference beamsplitters. Angle accuracy on autocollimator, coating to your split ratio.
Frequently Asked Questions
What flatness can you hold on large windows?
Lambda/10-class production on common sizes is routine on standard substrates; tighter figures quote per campaign. Send the size and application.
Protected metals vs dielectric?
Protected metals win on bandwidth and cost; dielectric stacks win on laser durability and tailored reflectivity. The answer is your source — tell us the laser or lamp and we recommend.
Environmental testing?
Salt-spray, humidity and thermal-cycle qualification runs available per standard; quote the standard number you need on file.
